Nagaland Governor, Nagaland Congress condemn Manipur ambush

Kohima: Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Prof Jagdish Mukhi and Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) have strongly condemned the killing of seven Assam Rifles personnel in an ambush by militants on the convoy of the 46 Assam Rifles at Behiang village under Churachandpur district of Manipur on November 13.

In his condemnation statement, Prof Mukhi said, “I strongly condemn the actions of the perpetrators, the inhuman and cowardly attack and killing of the Assam Rifles personnel including woman and child deserves the highest condemnation.” The Nagaland Governor added, “When every peace loving citizen is taking an active part in building a peaceful environment in the country specially in our North East India, those perpetrators have no place in our society and justice will be served immediately.”

Also issuing a strongly worded condemnation statement, NPCC) said, “Killing in peace time is inhuman. It is disgusting and frustrating.”

NPCC said that the “inability to rise above political parties’ interests to decide and implement solution effectively and to enforce the law of the land, are responsible for loss of lives”.

“The answer to all these problems is to remove the lethargic and weak government”, said NPCC, and added, “They are responsible for giving way to killers.”
