With 33% vaccination rate, Tamenglong begins door-to-door Covid-19 vaccination drive

Tamenglong: Covid-19 vaccination of all eligible above 18 years have begun in Tamenglong by 10 teams of Care India Covid vaccination project under the name of Covid vaccine express. The team comprises of 10 vehicles of which 3 teams under Tamei PHC, 2 teams each for Tousem and Oinamlong PHCs and 3 teams under Tamenglong block.

The support from Care India are 13 Nurses, 14 DEOs, 10 vehicles with Drivers and free basic AEFI kit etc. All the teams have reported to their reporting PHCs Monday evening.

Meanwhile, SELCO Foundation, India will extend their support with two 4×4 vehicles, eight vaccinators to improve the vaccination achievement of Tamenglong district which is now only 33%.

The SELCO Foundation authority has approved to start the activities from today in Tamei and Tousem block with a very low vaccinate rate among the villagers.

The District Administration and District Heath Soceity, Tamenglong has appealed the general public to co-operate the team and provide all the requirements to vaccinate all the willing 18 years and above eligible people.

Sources said that the teams will be visiting all villages in the vaccination drive with daily fix session at the CVCs except on holidays. There will be house to house vaccination activities daily village wise in the district and sub division.

The team will be visiting all the villages with letters to Village Authority, chairman, secretary, members and also for church leaders, pastors, requesting them on behalf of District Administration and District Health society, Tamenglong, and in public interest to help for mobilizing the people in getting vaccination, and also for extending help required including accommodation for the vaccination team whenever required.

The DIO Tamenglong also appeals the general public not to waste the valuable chances to get vaccinated when the vaccine is available at their doorstep.
