Nagaland police arrest two from Manipur with 1.5 lac WY tablets

Dimapur: Two persons from Manipur were arrested by Nagaland police with contraband items, according to an official report.

The DIPR report of the Nagaland government said that around 6 pm on September 14, Nagaland police personnel of Narcotic Cell, while conducting surprise checking along NH-2, intercepted one Guwahati bound XUV 500, near a bridge between Khuzama and Viswema, which was coming from Imphal, Manipur.

A thorough check of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of 15 packets containing approximately 1,50,000 (one lakh fifty thousand) tablets of suspected YABA (WY). Accordingly, the occupants of the vehicle identified as Md. Salman Khan (32years) of Kwakta, Bishnupur district, Manipur, and Abdur Rajak (38years) of Imphal East district, Manipur, were arrested and the illegal contraband along with the vehicle duly seized, the report added. 

A case, vide Narcotic Cell Police Station Case No. 12/2022. U/S 22(c)/60 NDPS Act, has been registered for further investigation, the report also said.
