Welcoming the New Year on a positive note, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has positively greeted the news of “the news of NSCN/GPRN led by Gen. (Retd) Nikki Sumi formally joining the peace talk with the Government of India.”

A press statement released on Sunday said that the NSF was “thrilled” at the “development”, which the NSF considers with conviction as “the right step towards bringing about a peaceful end to the protracted Indo-Naga peace process.”

The NSF statement also appealed to all the parties of the negotiation to show sincerity in their approach, and ensure that a solution that is inclusive, honourable and acceptable to Nagas is brought about at the earliest.

“The federation further reiterates its earlier appeal to the Naga people to be mindful of the deceptive approaches of our adversaries,” the statement said. The NSF also made a sincere appeal to all the stakeholders to “love each other unconditionally, accept each others’ weaknesses and together with Christ, strive towards our ultimate goal.”
