Online Building Permission System set for launch within Imphal Municipal corporation in Sep 15

Imphal: Online Building Permission System (OBPS) which will makes easier in getting permission for construction of buildings within Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) will be launched on September 15, Manipur MAHUD minister Y Khemchand said on Tuesday.

Speaking at the 9th foundation day of Manipur Architects’ Forum held in Imphal’s City Convention Centre, the minister said that once the system is launched, getting permission for construction of buildings will be ‘just a mouse click away’.

Khemchand further said that the OBPS will also help making the public aware of building bye-laws.

The minister said that with the implementation of the system, the inconveniences and disturbances caused by imbalance in structures to the surrounding will be reduced to a great extent.

The minister also stressed the big role to be played by the architects in creating awareness about building bye-laws as they are the one who draw the structure of building.

The OBPS will help generate employment for architects, he added.

On the occasion, the MAHUD minister further informed that the state government is planning to develop cycle-lanes in the city area for promoting e-cycle.

Construction of as many as 21 cycle-parking have been completed and the state government has ordered 100 e-cycles from an outside firm. E-cycle will be launched very soon in the state, the minister added.

As a part of the foundation day celebration of the Manipur Architects’ Forum, a workshop on IMC Building By-law (2nd amendment) 2022 was held under the sponsorship of the state town planning department.
