Reason for my exit was blown out of proportion, says Hutovi Chishi

Taken aback and disturbed at what is being floated in social media and PTI sourced print media report following his exit as Convener of the Steering Committee, Hutovi Chishi made an official “clarification” on Sunday saying that “what was simply a matter of normal change of guard in NSCN’s Steering Committee has been blown out of proportion with venomous manipulation which does not reflect my thoughts and emotions in any manner.”

“This is no doubt the handiwork of anti-NSCN elements prodded by IB (Intelligence Bureau) to create crack within the organization,” said Mr Chishi in a press statement.

Mr Chishi then stated that he was highly indebted to the Collective Leadership for entrusting upon him to shoulder such a responsibility to serve the organization as Co-convener and Convener of the Steering Committee, NSCN.

According to the statement, the assignment of portfolio and other political designation was allotted in accordance with the discretion of the Collective Leadership, and that NSCN had stood the test of time as a cohesive organization, with unflinching commitment from the members and would remain as a cohesive force in Naga political affairs.

“Needless to reiterate my political stand I regret that this unfortunate incident occurred which never reflected my face value as a humble NSCN member,” added the statement.
