Three-day training on fishery farming organised at Chadong village

Kamjong: Mapithel Newgen farmers club in collaboration with Central Agriculture University (directorate of Instruction) Imphal organised a three day training programme on harvest and post harvest of fishery farming from February 19 to 21 at Chadong Maohou Village, Kamjong District.

Topics such as fish breeding of Indian major carps in Manipur, fishery economy in reference to Manipur, types of fishery, cage culture in Thoubal dam, fishery conservation in Thoubal dam water reservoir, biofloc fishery, common disease and solutions in fishery farming were covered in the training.

45 farmers from Chadong village, Ramrei village, Lamlai Khunou village, Ngarumphung village, Nongdam Kuki village and Kasom villages attended the training.

200 poultry chicks, two bag of fish feed, multi-ferlizers, seeds of coriander (phadigom), rajma beans seeds, cucumber seeds, water melon seeds etc were distributed by CAU.

Basuda Devi, Senior Scientist, ICAR Lamphel; Dr.Y.Bedajit Singh, Deputy Director of Instruction, CAU Imphal, Dr.Gusheinzed Waikhom, Associate professor, college of Fishery,Tripura; Bidyasagar Singh, Research Scholar, Central Institute of Fisheries Education,Mumbai; W. Romen Mangang, Director, Aquaone,Imphal; W. Tensubam, Director, Director, Engaal Aquculture, Imphal were the resource persons in the training programme.
