UKHRUL: Lepsopthei Kasar, daughter of Shairei Kasar from Awungtang village in Ukhrul district, made a remarkable mark at the AIU Women’s Parliament 2026, held at Chaudhary Bansi Lal University from April 3 to 5.
Lepsopthei represented Manipur University and played a key role in leading her team to secure the 1st Runner-Up position among 22 participating universities from across the country.
The national-level parliamentary simulation, organized under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities, featured four intensive rounds based on different legislative bills, testing participants’ analytical ability, leadership, and public speaking skills.
“Lepsopthei distinguished herself through exceptional leadership and composure under pressure” said her sister Heithing Kasar. She had limited preparation but she demonstrated clarity of thought, articulate expression, and firm authority while presiding over sessions which is said to have earned her the coveted “Best President” title.
