Ukhrul’s First PSA Oxygen Plant inaugurated by CM N Biren Singh

Chief Minister emphasized on encouraging the youths to take interest in sports to reduce drug use. For higher and quality education in Ukhrul district, 60 crore is to be invested towards Pettigrew College.

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh inaugurated PSA Oxygen generator plant in District Hospital, Ukhrul today at around 1 pm, funded under 15th Finance Commission Grant in the presence of Rajen Singh, Minister of Eucation, Fishiries and CADA, Vungzagin Valte, Minister, TA and Hills, Transport, GAD Manipur, Khashim Vashum, MLA 45-Chingai AC (ST), V. Vumlunmang IAS, Principal Secretary Health and Family welfare, Dr Yaronsho Ngalung, Caretaker Chairman, ADC Ukhrul.

Dr Rajesh Kumar, Chief Secreatry GoM, Joseph Pauline Kamson, IAS DC, Ukhrul, Dr Kapangring A Shimray, CMO Ukhrul and his colleagues, Polly Makan, CEO ADC, Ukhrul and her colleagues, DIG range Senior police officers, DLOs, Tangkhul CSO leaders, NHIDCL, Village Authority Hungpung and Ukhrul attended the program. The Program commenced with a blessing by Rev Mathotmi Vasha followed by unveiling of plague and cutting of ribbon for Oxygen plant by Chief Minister.

Speaking at the inauguration, Joseph Pauline DC Ukhrul said, “Today is a Red letter day in the medical history of Ukhrul district’. He also said that the populace are seeing the fruit of CM’s last visit to district Hqs on 24th May 2021 to review Covid-19 situation.

Addressing the gathering in his inaugural speech, N Biren Singh appreciated doctors and nurses for having successfully delivered five Covid positive mothers. He mentioned that the new government’s mission is not to isolate any state but to ensure equal distribution of materials. He further mentioned that one special hospital will be opened in Shirui village.

N Biren Singh emphasized on encouraging the youths to take interest in sports to reduce drug use. For higher and quality education in Ukhrul district, 60 crore is to be invested towards Pettigrew College.

He further pointing out his concern on scarcity of water caused by deforestation in Shirui, he encouraged planting of more trees by taking fund from the Forest department under Manipur Green Mission.

In conclusion CM warned the populace of Ukhrul not to be careless during this curfew relaxation, but take precaution, maintain SOPs, and get medical treatment instead of medication in the confines of home.

CMO Dr Kapangring A Shimray, expressed his gratitude to CM and Principal Secretary Health and Welfare for regularizing the NHN staff. He also showed appreciation for providing Surgeon, Orthopedics, anesthetics and other medical staffs and requested for more number of physician, nurses, supporting staff, as well as better incentive and payment for Covid warrior and covid staff.

Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong submitted a memorandum, regarding setting up of state library in the Ukhrul district headquarters.
