Chief Minister N Biren inaugurates PSA Oxygen Plant in Chandel

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Monday inaugurated PSA Oxygen Plant at District Hospital, Chandel under the 15th Finance Commission Grants in the presence of Letpao Haokip, Minister (Youth Affairs & Sports & Water Resources), Vungzagin Valte,Minister (TA & Hills, Transport & GAD), D. Ringo Lamkang, Caretaker Chairman, Autonomous District Council, Chandel.

The inauguration program was attended by important dignitaries including S. Rajen Singh, Minister (Education, Fisheries & CADA), Vumlunmang Vualnam, IAS Principal Secretary (Health & FW), C. Arthur Worchuiyo, IAS Director (TA & Hills), K. Kabib, IPS DIG, R-II, Mayanglambam Rajkumar, IAS Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, L. Deben Singh, MPS SP, Chandel.

The public gathering included officials and staffs of district administration Chandel, District Hospital medical fraternity, Civil Society Organizations, tribe leaders, church leaders etc.

Chief Minister N Biren in his inaugural speech congratulated district administration Chandel and the people of the district for their cooperation as the district topped the list of aspirational districts ranked by Niti Aayog for the month of June 2021. He expressed his delight to inaugurate PSA Oxygen Plant under 15th FC Grants to cater to the needs of the people of Chandel district during this Covid situation. According to N Biren, additional oxygen plant is coming up under Prime Minister Care in near future.

During the course of his speech, N Biren also emphasized the need for better infrastructural development of the district hospital and recruitment of local competent medical staffs to ease long distance travelling and other inconveniences. Early detection of Covid and early treatment including vaccination was also emphasized in his speech. He appealed the district administration Chandel, CMO team and leaders from CSOs, village, church and student community to work collectively to fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

A word of acknowledgment and appreciation was delivered by Medical Superintendant Dr. Joyson Monsang to the visiting Chief Minister and important dignitaries and all leaders and media fraternity. Dr. Joyson highlighted some of the urgent need of the district hospital of which medicine and anaesthetist specialist are the topmost requirement. The Medical Superintendant also requested the visiting heads the need for posting of a radiologist as the hospital had received a digital X-ray and has colour ultrasound but no radiologist.

Later, the Chief Minister had interaction program of BJP Karyakartas at community hall, Chamdil Christian village organized by BJP, Chandel district.
