Senapati, August 8: The United Naga Council (UNC), the apex civil body of the Naga people in Manipur has called for an emergency Presidential Council Meeting on August 11.
In an emergency meeting notice issued by Vareiyo Shatsang, General Secretary of the UNC, it stated that the meeting will be based on the ultimatum served to the Govt of India by the Naga CSOs over the issue of scrapping the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and border fencing, which will expire on August 11, coupled with other pressing issues.

The emergency Presidential Council meeting slated for August 11 is stated to be a crucial one, which will discuss the course of action if the Government of India fails to address their demands.
All Tribe Hoho Presidents have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.
The venue for the said meeting will be at the UNC Secretariat office, Old Monday Market, Senapati (Tahamzam) headquarters, starting from 11:00 AM onwards.
