10 more succumbs to COVID-19 in Manipur: 730 new cases pushes infection caseload to 39,052

Manipur’s COVID-19 infection tally crossed 39,000-mark as the state saw yet another new record in daily spike with 730 positive cases on Saturday.

The fatality tally of the state also reached 562 with 10 more persons succumbing to the COVID-19 complication during the past 24 hours.

The latest COVID-19 situation updated by the state Health department at 5pm on Saturday revealed that 730 fresh infections were registered in the past 24 hours. 

This is the second day in which the state reported more than 700 daily cases.
 The recovery tally included 403 patients who were discharged upon recovery on Saturday.
As the number of active cases increased to 6,215, the recovery rate dropped further to 82.64%. It was 83.16 % the previous day.

As per the update report of the Health department, Imphal West continued to record the highest number of deaths with six even as only two casualties reported in Imphal East, the second worst affected district.

The remaining two casualties were reported in Churachandpur and Kakching districts.
All the 730 fresh positive cases were reported from the general population with 268 in Imphal West, 208 in Imphal East, 53 in Thoubal, 38 in Bishnupur, 58 in Kakching, 8 in Ukhrul, 28 in Churachandpur, 5 in Chandel, 2 in Senapati, 39 in Tamenglong, 15 in Kangpokpi and 8 in Jiribam district.

A total of 403 patients were also discharged after they recovered from the viral disease in the last 24 hours. The discharges included four CAPF personnel and 319 patients on home isolation. The rest were discharged from different hospitals across the state.
