11 fresh cases push Manipur’s COVID-19 infection tally to 29,110

Eleven fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in Manipur on Friday even as the same number of patients was discharged on the same day after they recovered from the disease.
With no death related with the pandemic reported from any part of the state on Friday, the fatality tally remains at 372.

The 11 fresh positive cases diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours pushed the state’s coronavirus infection tally to 29,110.

The total infection included 28,684 recoveries as 11 more patients were discharged after they recovered from the respiratory disease in the past 24 hours (till 4pm of February 5), the daily status update report of the state health department said.

The state has only 113 active cases while the recovery rate of the state remained at 98.33%.

Of the 11 fresh cases, three were from Kakching district and two each from Thoubal, Tamenglong and Churachandpur districts while the rest one from Chandel district.
On the other hand, with 779 healthcare workers vaccinated today, the total number of persons so far inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine in the state reached 6874.

This is 57.08% of the targeted 7,310 beneficiaries in the first phase. Healthcare workers were the beneficiaries of the first phase of the vaccination drive in the state which commenced on January 16 last.
