KANGPOKPI, NOVEMBER 21: The Khelo India Football Tournament hosted by 112 BN CRPF and SAI came to a successful close at S. Changoubung Village today. The event, held from November 17 to 21, 2025, was organised under the aegis of IG M&N Sector, CRPF and DIG (Ops) Range KPI.
Altogether 16 teams participated in the tournament, and after five days of a tight and exciting match schedule, Zalaithang FT lifted the Winner’s Trophy by defeating Maohing FT in the final with a 3-1 scoreline. Maohing FT finished as the Runner’s Up team.

The closing ceremony witnessed a huge turnout and was graced by Rajesh Kumar, DIG (Ops) Range KPI, CRPF as the Chief Guest. Among those present at the event were SP KPI Abhinav IPS, Addl. DC KPI N. Shokhongam Baite MCS, CO 112 BN CRPF RK Baruah, CO 94 Bn CRPF Vinod Kumar, CO 69 BN CRPF Rosan Zimik, 112 BN CRPF 2ic Mukesh Taterway, 26 BN BSF 2ic Manoj Rai, SBI Kpi Chief Manager Mangkholet Haokip, VA Vice Chairman of A. Changoubung Paotinlen Vaiphei, SCYC President Haotinlen Ngailut, other officers, SOs, jawans, students and many villagers.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Rajesh Kumar, DIG remarked that the Khelo India Football Tournament provided a valuable platform for the local youth to showcase their sporting talents and skills. He encouraged all players to continue improving their inherent abilities in sports and highlighted that SAI can support them in pursuing sports as a professional career.
Along with the Winner’s Trophy + Cash Prize, Medals and Certificates and the Runner’s Up Trophy, several individual honours were also distributed including the Best Player’s Trophy, Golden Booth (Top Goal Scorer)’s Trophy, Best Goal Keeper’s Trophy and Appreciation Certificates.

The closing ceremony also featured cultural dances performed by students of Elite Hr Sec School, KPI and South Changoubung Youth Club, adding colour and vibrancy to the event.
The enormous efforts rendered by 112 BN CRPF in organising the mega event were highly appreciated by the Village Chief and the villagers.
