12 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Meghalaya

A further 12 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Meghalaya on Sunday. There were also 13 recoveries and no new fatalities in the state in the same period.

In the first three days of this year there have been only 33 new infections and 47 recoveries from the virus in the entire state, though the level of testing has yet to come back to pre-holiday levels.

Of the new cases, East Khasi Hills accounted for 10, West Jaintia Hills one and Ri-Bhoi one.

There were also 10 new recoveries in East Khasi Hills, one in Ri-Bhoi, one in West Garo Hills and one in South West Garo Hills.In all, Meghalaya has had 13,460 Covid-19 cases, of which 135 are active, 13,186 have recovered and 139 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.96 percent. The fatality rate is 1.03 percent.
