Manipur’s COVID-19 case tally surged to 29196 on Sunday after a spike of 13 fresh cases in the past 24 hours, the state Health department update said.

Among the 13 fresh cases, 10 are males and the rest three females. All of them are from the general populace with nine from Kakching district, two from Imphal East and one each from Imphal West and Bishnupur district.

The 13 fresh cases led to the increase of active caseload to 75 as only four patients were discharged after they recovered. The active caseload was declined to 66 on the previous day (Saturday).

The four recoveries on Sunday took the total number of recoveries in the state to 28,748 which is 98.46% against 98.49% in the previous day.

As there was no report of death due to the contagion in the state in the last 24 hours for the seventh consecutive days, the fatality tally remained at 373.

The 13 fresh cases were detected out of 1,040 samples subjected to COVID-19 tests at different testing centres across the state in the past 24 hours (till 4pm of February 14).
The total number of samples tested in the state now reached 5,33,846.

On the other hand, the total number of people vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine in the state rose to 22,429 as 364 people were inoculated today (on Sunday).

There were no severe reactions or allergies or adverse events following the immunisation drive till date except 41 mild reactions who were on home care and all of them were fully recovered now, the health department said.
