Imphal: Manipur police has arrested two persons allegedly involved in a shooting incident case that occurred on October 14 night, resulting in bullet injuries to 5 people including a woman.

On October 14 night, around 11 pm, approximately 20 armed miscreants who tried to whisk away a local man at gunpoint fired several rounds of guns while escaping from local people that foiled the abduction bid.

At least five persons including a woman sustained bullet injuries in the violent incident that occurred at Kwakeithel Konjeng Haraji Leikai under Imphal police station.

While alleging that the shooting incident was related to a Facebook post by one Khaidem Satyajit alias Bobo (38) of the locality who the armed miscreants tried to whisk away from his home, the JAC had pointed out the involvement of former BJYM president M Barish Sharma who forced Bobo to offer an apology.

During a protest rally carried out on the streets at Kwakeithel today under the aegis of the JAC, the protesters demanded immediate booking of Barish Sharma.
