2 dies of COVID-19: Manipur fatality reaches 10

UT News Service | IMPHAL, August 7: A 76 year old man from Kangpokpi and 28 year old man from Chandel died of COVID-19 on Friday. Official statement confirmed both of the patients died due to COVID-19 related issues, both with co-morbid health conditions.

Manipur state reported 249 COVID-19 new cases in the last 24 hours, the highest single-day spike since the outbreak of the disease in the state. COVID-19 cases in the state have reached 3466 including 1926 active cases. The number of recovered cases have increased to 1530 after 21 persons recovered patients were discharged on Friday.

Of the confirmed 249 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, 165 are personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and 84 are from the general population.
Of these 84 cases, 63 are locally transmitted cases while the remaining 21 are returnees.
