20-member INDIA delegation visits Moirang relief camps in Manipur

Imphal: A delegation of 20-member of Parliament from the 16 opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) parties led by Adhir Ranjan Choudhary visited relief camps opened at Moirang College today evening and listened to the grief and grievances of the inmates.

The delegate in their on ground assessment interacted with the inmates and enquired about their condition.

Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, Congress leader expressed that the situation will further aggravate if both the government do not take proactive measures and action to resolve the prevailing crisis. Amidst the crisis situation in Manipur, Meitei residing in Mizoram are forcibly ousted from the state of Mizoram with active involvement of Mizoram chief minister. How long will this continue, the crisis is heading toward a civil war scenario. The government should not take the situation lightly since innocent civilians are affected and people are crying for peace at both side. Both the government [Centre and State] should take proactive action to contain the crisis for immediate normalcy and peace in the state he continued rather than taking verbal action. The crisis has been going on for more than 80 days and chief minister has not yet visited this camp. People need a healing touch and ray of hope should be assured to inmates to give them psychological relief. Future of the youths and productive generation are in mess, solution should be brought at the earliest.

MP Muthuvel Karunanidhi Kanimozhi of DMK She asserted that special arrangements are made under the aegis of MK Stalin to accommodate athletes of Manipur for their proper training in the state of Tamil Nadu. MPs of INDIA party alliance will raise the voices of the people of Manipur in the Parliament until the solution of the prevailing crisis. MK Stalin chief minister of Tamil Nadu and the party DMK stands with the people of Manipur.

Communist Party of India (CPI) MP P. Santosh Kumar expressed that BJP is evading on the discussion of Manipur issue in the parliament but INDIA party alliance and CPI will raise the issue in the parliament and will protest to discuss the issue in detail.

The delegation of 20 Member of Parliament were accompanied by opposition MLAs Th. Lokeshwor and K. Meghachandra and others.
