22 Myanmar Nationals Deported from Manipur, More to Follow

Imphal: Authorities in Manipur on Saturday deported 22 more Myanmar nationals who entered the state unlawfully. The deported individuals were escorted out of Manipur in two separate trips, with 11 Myanmar nationals deported in each trip. This follows the deportation of another seven individuals on Friday.

Officials have indicated that a total of 78 Myanmar nationals, who were held in a foreigner detention center in Imphal, will be deported in batches from March 8 to March 11.

The first batch of deportees, consisting of seven Myanmar nationals, including women and children, were transported to Moreh from the Imphal airport via helicopter. Upon reaching Moreh, these individuals were handed over to the Myanmar authorities by the immigration office on the Indian side.
