24th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy Set to Ignite Kohima: Exciting Matches, Star Performances, and Big Prizes Await

KOHIMA, SEP 11: The 24th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2024 (Lt. Kekuojalie Sachii and Lt. Vikhozo Yhoshii), organised by Angami Students’ Union (ASU) will start from September 14 to October 5 at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima under the theme “Goal for Peace”
43 teams have confirmed their participation, of which 9 team from Manipur.

Fixture draw was done today at ASU office, Kohima.

Nagaland’s Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton will grace the inaugural ceremony on September 14 at 5:00 PM.

Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) president Medovi Rhi will share solidarity message while welcome address will be delivered by ASU president Khriesamhalie David Mere.

The inaugural programme will be chaired by organizing committee convenor Vizokho Zashümo while ASU games & sports secretary Metebo-o Sote will administer oath to the participating teams.

The curtain raiser from 4:00 PM will feature various artists like Vetho, Moko, Mengu, Guru Gee, Tutu, Litsuku, Vidi & Vivo and 15th NAP (IR) Mahila Band.

Laying of wreaths and hoisting of flag will be done at NSF Martyrs’ Park Kohima at 8:00 AM on September 14.

Mention may be made that the prize money for the champion has been enhanced to Rs 3 lakh while the runner- up will receive Rs 1.80 lakh. Semi finalists get Rs. 40,000 each while quarter-finalists will receive Rs25, 000 each.

Individual awards for best midfielder, defender and top scorer have been set at Rs.10, 000 each.

Player of the tournament will be awarded with Rs. 50,000.

It is also mentioned that the technical briefing will be on 12th Sept i.e 2:00pm at IG Stadium, Kohima.
