25th Hornbill Festival Comes to Spectacular End

Ukhrul, Dec 10: The 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival came to a spectacular end with a grand closing ceremony held at the Main Arena in Kisama in Kohima this evening. The event marked the successful conclusion of the 10-day-long celebration of Nagaland’s rich culture and heritage.

Festival Host and Minister of Tourism & Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along in his closing speech thanked the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio under whose visionary leadership the Nagas were able to come together in unity, spirituality, and enthusiasm for the festival. He emphasized that the festival went beyond cultural and tribal ties and extended to humanity.

Along thanked the Department of Art & Culture, led by Advisor K. Konngam Konyak, for bringing artisans from all over Nagaland to come and showcase their rich culture and heritage to the world. He also appreciated the Tourism Department for their effort in making the festival a grand success. He also extended gratitude to the TaFMA team for their persistence and commitment and for providing opportunities in the field of music and arts throughout the 10 days. 

The minister thanked the Police for ensuring secure and seamless logistics during the festival. He thanked the line Departments, Ministers, Advisors, Administrative Head of Departments, and Head of Departments led by the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Dr. J. Alam for their absolute cooperation and collaboration.

The Festival Host thanked the Churches and all the people of Nagaland for bringing positivity and taking ownership to build such an empowering brand. Along thanked the country partners and state partners along with the ambassadors and bureaucrats for their collaboration. He appreciated the media fraternity for showing the festival to the world.

Minister, Temjen Imna Along, along with Miss Nagaland 2024, Anon Konyak, and the pageant’s first and second runners-up, Nikali K Shohe and Kelülü Dawhuo, lit the ceremonial bonfire, symbolizing the end of this year’s festival.

The closing program also featured a mesmerizing cultural presentation and captivating musical performances, leaving the audience with lasting memories of the festival’s unique blend of traditions, music, and dance.

The 25th Hornbill Festival has once again proven to be a vibrant celebration of Naga culture, drawing visitors from across the world to witness the beauty and unity of Nagaland.
