27 AR organises Mini Marathon under ‘Fit India Movement’ at Ngahui

The 27 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 10 Sect AR organised a mini marathon Saturday at Ngahui (Awangkasom) village under ‘Fit India Movement’, a release issued by AR Awangkasom COB said.

The aim of the event, the release said is to inculcate the importance of physical and mental fitness to individuals of all age groups. The event was held as its social responsibility towards promoting the ‘Fit India Movement’ in North East states of India.

Upholding the motto of “Friends of North-East People” the mini marathon saw a total 350 individual participants from different age groups in 3 km, 4 km and 8 km run.  

Villagers from Ngahui (Awangkasom), Khalang, Kurei, Luire Shimphumg, Poi, Chingai, Marem, Nugbai, Peh and Chinjroi attended the event.

School children’s of CMS Ngahui (Awangkasom), Holy Spirit school Longpi participated in run with full enthusiasm. The winners of each category were awarded with cash prize, medals and participation certificates.
