27 students among fresh cases of COVID in Mizoram

Health department: There are 368 active cases of COVID-19 in the state while 2,238 people have already recovered from the virus.

Many students are among 80 fresh cases of COVID-19 detected in Mizoram in the past 24 hours. With this latest update, the COVID-19 tally in the state has reached 2607 on Wednesday.

According to the Health department, 27 school students, 11 army personnel and one Mizoram policeman are among the new cases recorded in the state.

The department then said that, out of the 80 fresh cases of COVID-19, 76 cases were detected from Aizawl district, 2 from Lawngtlai district and one each from Khawzawl and Saitual districts.

The Health department then said that 63 of the 80 fresh cases were locally transmitted. It also said that contact tracing is underway how 14 other cases were contracted with the virus while the rest 17 patients are returnees.

It then said one COVID-19 recovered person was affected with the disease again for the second time. The patient, a female from Aizawl, was discharged a few days ago from a Covid-19 Care Centre after being declared cured from the disease.

The Health department also said out of the 80 fresh cases, 62 are asymptomatic while the rest developed symptoms.

Meanwhile, 5 persons were discharged from various COVID-19 care centres on Wednesday after they have recovered from the disease.

The Health department then said there are 368 active cases of COVID-19 in the state while 2,238 people have already recovered from the virus.

The recovery rate of Mizoram is 85.85 per cent, according to the Health department. It also said the state also reported one Covid-19 death. 

It can be mentioned here that altogether, 1,07,812 samples have been tested till date in Mizoram.
