3 arrested by Dimapur police in connection with murder case of truck driver

The Dimapur police special investigation team (SIT) led by additional commissioner of police (crime) T Relo Aye on Friday arrested three individuals in connection with the September 22 murder case of a truck driver identified as (by his driving license) Jiten Gogoi of Dhemaji district of Assam.

Five truckers’ unions based in Dimapur and Lahorijan, Khatkhati and Bokajan of Karbi Anglong district of Assam called for indefinite economic blockade from two entry points to Dimapur by road from Karbi Anglong district of Assam in September.

Owing to the killing of the driver, several organizations condemned the incident and took to protest and demanded arrest of the culprit(s) at the earliest including Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI), Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) and Public Action Committee (PAC), Dimapur.
