Imphal: COVID-19 active caseload in Manipur surged to 24 with four more fresh cases of the disease reported on Friday against zero discharge.
Four new cases- two each in Imphal West and Imphal East district – were detected upon testing of 70 samples in the last 24 hours, said the state Health department, in its latest bulletin. The test positivity rate of the day was 5.7%, it added.
Adding the fresh cases, the infection tally of the state rose to 1,37,274 even as the death toll remained confined to 2,120 with no death link to the virus since March 18 last.

As no patient was discharged upon recovery in the last 24 hours, the recovery tally as well as recovery rate remained at 1,35,130 and 98.44% respectively.
The active case in the state rose to 24 after adding the four fresh cases.Meanwhile, the cumulative number of doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in the state so far rose to 29,64,355 with 3081 more doses administered on Thursday.
In the state, out of 15,93,297 people who jabbed with the first dose, 12,59,137 of them took the second dose. Moreover, 1,11,921 people have so far received the precautionary dose of the vaccine, the Health department said.
