NNN | IMPHAL, July 15: Four persons with no recent travel histories were tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur’s Thoubal district.
The four persons have histories of exposure to known local risk factors. As such, there is no evidence of community transmission going on in the district, a press release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room clarified.
The four persons confirmed for the pandemic in Thoubal district are a padhan and one member of a gram panchayat, a security guard and one volunteer who served at a quarantine centre, the control room said.
Meanwhile, 28 fresh cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the last 24 hours in Manipur, the control room said in the press release.
Of the 28, 10 cases are from Imphal West, 11 from Thoubal district, four from Kamjong district and one each to Jiribam, Kakching, and Tamenglong districts.
The fresh COVID-19 cases were detected during the testing of 728 samples in the last 24 hours. With this, Manipur has tested 65,866 samples so far for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, all necessary medical precautionary measures such as containment and contact tracing were put in place, the press note added.
On the other hand, 60 persons were discharged on Wednesday in Manipur after they were found COVID-19 free during RT PCR testing. With this update, the total number of recovered cases of COVID-19 in Manipur has reached1080.
The cumulative number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the State stands at 1700 and 620 are active cases. The recovery rate stood at 63.52 percent, the press release also said.
