41 fresh COVID-19 cases reported in Manipur in 24 hours

A total of 41 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in the past 24 hours to take Manipur’s overall COVID-19 caseload to 28,137 on Wednesday.

The COVID-19 related death toll also rose to 354 with one more life was claimed by the viral infection on Wednesday.

The daily update of COVID-19 Common Control Room stated of the 41 new positive cases, 20 are males while 21 are females.

As per the update report, 18 of the fresh cases were from Imphal West district, 10 from Imphal East, three from Thoubal, two each from Tamenglong, Churachandpur and Tengnoupal and one each from Bishnupur, Kakching, Senapati and Jiribam.

All are locally transmitted cases as they have no significant travel history. 
The death toll due to COVID-19 related illness has risen to 354 as a 64-year-old woman from Imphal East district died in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the recovery rate of the state also improved to 94.54% with the total number of people recovered from the disease rose to 26,601 with 80 more patients being discharged in the last 24 hours.

The number of active cases stood at 1,182.
