55 Ukhrul police personnel promoted to ASI

Ukhrul: As many as 55 police head constable of Ukhrul district police personnel working in different branches were promoted to assistant sub-inspector (ASI) on Monday.

The police personnel were given their belt during the promotion ceremony held today at police reserve line, Phungreitang Ukhrul.

Superintended of Police (SP), Ningshem Vashum handed over the belt in the presence of Ukhrul district police officers, family members and well wishers.

As part of the joyous occasion, Guru Rewben Mashangva, Pakmi Mahong and Nimshimphy Muivah entertained the assembled with their special hits.

In his speech, SP Ukhrul, Ningshem Vashum congratulated the newly promoted ASI for their service to the state and the district. “Today is a joyous moment not only for the newly promoted officers but also for their entire family members.”

SP Ukhrul further exhorted the newly promoted 55 ASIs and said, “With promotion comes bigger responsibility. Be a role model and serve the force with commitment and not rest at your new feathers.”

The promotion ceremony event was moderated by inspector Hopkinson Chiphang, while act of blessings for the police officers was pronounced by associate pastor UBC Ukhrul.
