UT News Service | AIZAWL, JULY 31: Mizoram has reported 11 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Friday. With this, the state’s tally of the disease has reached 408.
According to the Health department, 238 samples were tested in the past 24 hours and confirmed 11 cases for COVID-19. The source also said that almost all the new cases of COVID-19 are asymptomatic. They are returnees from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Ladakh, West Bengal, Kashmir, Assam and Tripura, the source added.
Mizoram has now 174 active cases of COVID-19 and 234 recovered cases.
Comparatively, Mizoram has one of the lowest numbers of COVID-19 cases in the North East region. Mizoram reported large number of security force personnel tested positive for COVID-19.
Lok Sabha MP from Mizoram, C. Lalrosanga on Monday appealed to the security personnel to adhere to the guidelines and protocols and to take meticulous measures while entering the state and quarantining security personnel. C. Lalrosanga recently appealed Sunil Kumar, who is the IG-incharge of the Border Security Force (BSF) and Kuldeep Singh, DIG of the BSF in Mizoram.
