Jessami: Booth level political awareness campaign cum social mobilisation programme was held at Jessami village council office.

Ningam Chamroy, retired IAS officer also the BJP intending candidate of Chingai assembly constituency said people are the main stakeholder in the democratic electoral politics. This is not the election of intending candidates but people’s election for progressive and inclusive development and they are the ones who wields real power.

On his decision to enter electoral politics, Chamroy said, “I joined politics not because I am better than other candidates. It is neither to amass wealth nor do contract work as if my retirement pension is not enough. It was not a pride based decision. My only intention is to serve the people”.

He said this referring specifically to the people to elect the right candidate who would best represent and serve them, living upto the purpose for which he or she would be elected and not remain a frustrated figure citing inconveniences, and appeal the people to do the background check of the intending candidates on the basis of their past record.

Saying that he has full confidence in the BJP leaders, Chamroy said I have faith and trust in the leadership of prime minister Modi and chief minister Biren Singh as they are able leaders.

He continued that PM Modi had replaced Commission based Committee with NITI Aayog entrusting the department whole affairs with the leader it had full faith in their bid to ensure accountability. Modi had brought sea change in the lives of the people by introducing scores of people centric schemes and development including health card and various other schemes for the poor sections, he added lauding Modi’s good governance.

Reithingam Zingkhai, former president SANSA called for free and fair election in the coming election. “We have been casting our votes with fear as candidates who wants to get elected use underground forces to ensure victory”.

It seems like issues only come when election fast approaches and gone like a wind post election, he said, and asserted that those who sought underground forces backing needs to be blamed and not the underground as they were the one who let them involve in the election for the candidates benefits.

Khanot asked as to why 45-Chingai kendra fail to produce a representative who could become a chief minister and cabinet minister, and added that both 44-Ukhrul and 43-Phungyar had produced chief ministers.

Chamroy decision to stand as BJP intending candidate of Chingai kendra is laudable given his vast bureaucratic experienced and is a man who could steer cleare path.
