Chandel: The 4th Sirti Thamna Enii 2022 also known as Monsang Day of Prayer 2022 was held at Ng. Mono Monsang Memorial Hall, Japhou on October 29 Saturday under the aegis of Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union).
Monsang church leaders, village leaders, civil society organization leaders, student body leaders, club leaders, youths and children from respective Monsang villages attended the Monsang Day of Prayer.
Upa Ng. Benithan, President SUR, Upa Ng. Gilbert, Advisor SUR, Upa Rev. Alani Shongsir, Executive Secretary, MNBCA were the main speakers of the day among many other dignitaries and guests.

In his welcome and key note address, Ng. Benithan expressed a note of appreciation to past leaders of the Monsang community. A minute of silent prayer was observed as a mark of solidarity and respect to all the former deceased leaders of the Monsang tribe. Since its inception in 2019, October 29 every year is chosen as Monsang Day of Prayer as Monsang community got Scheduled Tribe recognition on 29th October 1956, Benithan mentioned. As such, October 29th every year is now commemorated as Monsang Day of Prayer. The objective of observing Monsang Day of Prayer is to seek blessing from the Lord for the community to progress with right knowledge, wisdom, humility, unity, good health and happiness, he mentioned.

Upa Ng. Gilbert in his short speech emphasized on the need to document the rich history and culture of the Monsang community in written forms for future posterity. He encouraged the community to move forward with quality and positive outlook.
Rev. Upa Alani Shongsir as a blessing minister of the occasion appealed and prayed for unity, safe-guarding Monsang identity and spirit of forgive and forget to strengthen the community as one family.
The programme which was moderated by Upa Ts. Monichung, Finance Secretary, SUR was enthralled with beautiful gospel songs from Japhou Baptist Youth Fellowship Worship Team and Ngiiriiti Rothangrii Monsang.
