Imphal: One Myanmar national who had suffered bullet injury in his abdomen, brought to Imphal died on Thursday morning.
The Myanmarese national is identified as one Khohantum (23) of Thanan village, Myanmar.
Khohantum was brought by the 8th Assam Rifles and Kamjong Police for medical treatment at JNIMS hospital in Prompat, Imphal East District today morning around 8:30 am, as per report.
According to sources, the Myanmarese patient Khohantum succumbed to his injuries as commotion erupted at the hearing about the admitting of the patient, allegedly as a Kuki-Zo patient.

Owing to the huge mob gathered at the hospital premises, a combined team of Imphal East District Police and Central Forces deployed in the hospital controlled the mob and had prevented to avoid any unwanted incident.

Update: According to Assam Rifles IGAR (South), the Myanmarese individual was injured in the crossfire in Myanmar and walked to the nearest security forces post towards Indian border side for medical aid at around 2 am on Thursday.
