Just weeks after Shree Cement Ltd. became the main investors for the Red and Gold Brigade, the club confirmed early yesterday that the investors have officially made a bid for the ISL spot that was opened up by the FSDL last week in early September.

Reports from the TOI states that one other party also made the bid for the slot. But the bid by the UK firm seems to have been more to understand what it takes to have an ISL club in India in the near future, rather than competing for the slot themselves this season.

The official decision for the slot is expected to be out from the FSDL next week. The club investors along with the fan base are confident that the bid for the slot is a mere formality with the club’s status in the Indian top flight for this season already secured.
