SHILLONG, July 29: The new Governor of Meghalaya will be sworn on July 30 at Raj Bhavan here. Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, S Vaidyanathan will administer the oath of office.
Two-time Mysuru MP and former minister C.H. Vijayashankar has been appointed as the Governor of Meghalaya. He is one of the six Governors appointed by President Droupadi Murmu, who also reshuffled three others late on Saturday. He will replace incumbent Governor Phagu Chauhan.

Lakshman Prasad Acharya has been made the Governor of Assam with the additional charge of Manipur while Gulab Chand Kataria has replaced Banwarilal Purohit as the governor of Punjab.
Acharya has replaced Kataria, who has also been appointed the administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, according to a communique issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
