During the visit Shah interacted with the Bru Reang community at the Haduklau Para Bru Settlement Colony in Dhalai district, visiting their homes and engaging in discussions about their progress.
While addressing the people present there, Shah highlighted the challenges faced by the Bru Reang community and the government’s efforts to address them. “For nearly 25 years, the Bru Reang brothers and sisters lived in extremely difficult conditions without access to basic facilities like water, toilets, electricity, education, employment, and healthcare. Those who ruled here earlier never saw their pain, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only understood their suffering but also resolved it,” Shah said.
Explaining the resettlement process Shah added, “The government facilitated the resettlement of 40,000 community members across 11 villages with a budget of Rs. 900 crore. These villages now have electricity, roads, drinking water, connectivity, solar street lights, subsidized grain shops, Anganwadi Kendras, and health centres. Each family has been provided with a 1,200-square-foot plot and a new home built with the government’s support. They also receive Rs. 5,000 monthly assistance for 24 months.”

As part of the inauguration, Shah launched 13 development projects which include the SB School in Bruha Para, a Health and Wellness Center, and a Market Shed. These projects are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to provide essential services and infrastructure to the Bru Reang community.
In addition to the inaugurated projects, Shah also laid the foundation stone for several other initiatives. These include the construction of the new building for the Ambassa Sub-divisional Magistrate Office, a new building for the 82 Mile Health Center, and two overbridges in the Jirania Railway Station area, aimed at improving connectivity and infrastructure in the region.
On the other hand, Shah criticized past administrations stating, “During the tenure of the previous government, many schemes were announced but never materialized on the ground. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, we ensured the Bru Reang people are included in the voter list and provided ration cards, health cards, and cooperatives to ensure their employment.”

Previously, no poor person received free ration, but now 82% of the population gets 5 kg of rice for free. The dropout rate has decreased to below 3%, and school enrollment has risen from 67% to 99.5%. Investments are flowing into the state, roads have been built, and electricity and toilets have reached every household,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of the Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI) in Agartala Shah noted, “This institute will train over 6,000 personnel annually from northeastern states and Central Armed Police Forces. It will provide advanced training and research facilities to address key security challenges like counter-terrorism, border management, human trafficking, drug trafficking, illegal migration, and arms smuggling.”

He concluded by mentioning the upcoming Maa Tripura Sundari temple. “The construction of this grand temple will make it easier for devotees from across the world to seek the blessings of the goddess,” he added.
