UT News Service | Churachandpur, July 26: Empty streets of Churachandpur town on the 4th day of strict lock down in Manipur. To curb the spread of Covid-19 cases and community transmission, the State government imposed a complete lockdown which came into effect on July 23, Thursday 2pm.
The state government will review situation after seven days lockdown and may extend further for seven more days. The decision for complete lockdown was taken following an emergency cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister N Biren Singh on July 22nd.
Under the lockdown order, shops selling essential commodities will remain open in all districts from 6 am to 10 am on all days except Sundays. Essential commodities include groceries for vegetables and fruits, poultry meat and fish. Health related activities, public utilities cargo goods movement, agriculture and related activities, fisheries, animal husbandry, finance and social sector, print and electronic media, courier services, food processing units, bottled water manufacturing and distribution, construction activities, private security services, private vehicles for emergency purposes, all offices of central and state government dealing with essential services, and all treasury offices are permitted.
