‘A Woman Who Fears The Lord Is To Be Praised’: 3rd Anal Catholic Women Conference Held

CHANDEL: The 3rd Anal Catholic Women Conference was held from January 16 to 19, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lamphoupasna, in Chandel district, under the theme “A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised” (Proverbs 31:30).

Over 500 women from eight Anal Catholic churches participated in the conference. Most Rev. Dr. Linus Neli, D.D., Archbishop of Imphal, graced the event as the main celebrant on Sunday, during which 130 faithful received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

New office bearers of the Anal Catholic Women Society for the 2026–2028 term were elected during the conference. Hl. Hringve of St. John’s Church, Y/Khutha-Anal Khunou, was elected President, while Hl. Thanihring and Bd. Nohrin were chosen as Secretary and Information Secretary respectively. Ws. Pewer of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lamphoupasna, was elected Vice President, with Bd. Nohrin and Ps. Lani of Sacred Heart Church, Beru Unopat, appointed as Finance Secretary and Joint Secretary.

The conference featured spiritual sessions and talks by clergy and religious sisters, along with cultural competitions including group song, choreography, and solo performances. Our Lady of Lourdes Church won the group song competition, while Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lamphoupasna, topped the choreography event. Bs. Paulina of Holy Trinity Catholic Church won the solo competition.

The conference concluded on Monday with a Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Augustine Nula.
