In a statement issued on Thursday, AISU said acts of intimidation and violence, particularly against individuals serving society, cannot be tolerated as they create fear and disturb social harmony.

The union urged the authorities to take immediate steps to ensure Dr Marangmei’s safety, identify those responsible, and initiate action through a fair and transparent process. It also appealed to the public to stand together against violence and uphold the rule of law.

AISU expressed solidarity with Dr Linda Marangmei and her family, stating that justice must prevail and peace must be maintained.
