Imphal, May 31: With political uncertainty still going on in Manipur, leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have said they are united and ready to form a stable government that will focus on peace and development.

A meeting was held on Saturday at the BJP state office in Keishampat, Imphal, led by BJP Manipur president A. Sarda Devi. This came after another meeting on Friday night at the home office of senior BJP leader and MLA Th. Biswajit Singh.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Sarda Devi said, “All BJP MLAs are united. We talked about forming the government during this time of conflict. The new government should work for development and bring peace back to the state.”

BJP Manipur vice-president Ch. Chidananda Singh said the final decision on forming the government will be made by the party’s top leaders in Delhi. “The decision is in the hands of the party high command. I believe they will think carefully and take action at the right time,” he said.

The main topics discussed at the meeting were how to quickly bring peace to Manipur and how to meet the public’s demand for a working government.

Chidananda also said they did not talk about any internal party issues and could not say when the new government would be formed. Still, he hoped a decision would come soon.

BJP MLA Kh. Ibomcha added, “We are getting ready to form the government. A meeting with central leaders has not been fixed yet, but it may happen soon.”

As talks continue behind the scenes, BJP leaders in Manipur are waiting for further instructions from the party’s top leaders in New Delhi.

The Constitution of India, which serves as the supreme law of the land, guarantees to every citizen the freedom of thought, conscience, and religion. This includes not only the right to profess and practice one’s beliefs but also the right to refrain from participating in practices that may conflict with those beliefs. This distinction is crucial. Freedom is not merely about participation—it is equally about the choice not to participate.
