Imphal: Governor Anusuiya Uikey revealed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has pledged to visit the state to find a solution and restore peace. She made this announcement during the handover ceremony of a new ambulance to the Red Cross Society Senapati Branch at Raj Bhawan on Wednesday. However, the exact date of Amit Shah’s visit to Manipur is not specified.
Governor Anusuiya Uikey, recounting her recent visit to New Delhi, stated that she met with the President, Union Home Minister, and Finance Minister. She highlighted the hardships and issues faced by the state’s people amidst the ongoing crisis, urging the top leadership to provide necessary aid and assistance.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured Governor Anusuiya Uikey during their meeting that he would take steps to promote reconciliation between the Meitei/Meetei and Kuki-Zo communities and facilitate the resettlement of displaced individuals to their original habitats.
Manipur Governor also mentioned that she has appealed to the Finance Minister for financial grants to support individuals currently residing in various relief camps across the state.
