IMPHAL: A meeting of the All Manipur Muslim Organisation (AMMSO) Advisory Council was held on Wednesday at the AMMSO Office, Hatta, where members deliberated on the prevailing circumstances and recent allegations concerning the organisation.
After extensive discussions and consultations, the Council unanimously adopted a series of resolutions. The Advisory Council strongly condemned and rejected what it described as a false claim circulated by certain unauthorized individuals regarding the formation of a 9th Election Committee Council to conduct AMMSO elections. It stated that such a move violates Article XV of the Constitution of the AMMSO Judicial Court.
Reaffirming its position as the legitimate guiding body of the organisation, the Council categorically rejected any attempt by individuals or groups to constitute an Election Committee without the consent of the AMMSO President and the knowledge of the Advisory Council.
The Council also resolved to extend the tenure of the current Executive Council, led by President Mr. Imtiyas Heibokmayum, with immediate effect and until further orders.

According to the Advisory Council, the decision was taken after careful consideration of the Executive Council’s dedicated service, ongoing and pending initiatives, and continued commitment to the organisation. It further cited the prevailing social situation, law and order challenges, and other unavoidable constraints as factors making it impractical to conduct a free and fair election at present.
In view of these circumstances, the Advisory Council stated that the continuation of the present Executive Council is in the best interest of the organisation and its members.
