The session introduced students to the remarkable migratory journey of the Amur Falcon, including its migration routes and long-distance movement across continents. Its ecological role in controlling insect populations, including termites, was also highlighted.

Panmei further explained the relationship between Tamenglong’s major river systems, including the Barak, Irang and Makhru rivers, and the surrounding landscapes that provide suitable roosting habitats for the migratory birds.

A short documentary, Amur’s Journey to Conservation, produced by Rainforest Club Tamenglong with the support of the Tamenglong Forest Division, was also screened during the programme. The film showcased the conservation journey of the Amur Falcon and reinforced the importance of community participation in protecting the species.
