ANGEWA Chandel Unveils Constitution, Urges Govt Employees to Drive Community Development

Chandel, August 9: The Anal Naga Government Employees’ Welfare Association (ANGEWA), Chandel on Saturday released it’s much anticipated constitution that aims to safeguard and promote the interest and welfare of the Anal Naga Govt Employees in Chandel district.

The constitution was released by Ps. Monihring, President, Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA), the apex body of the Anal Naga community during the Constitution Releasing cum Farewell Programme at the Community Hall, Chandel Christian village in Chandel district.

Addressing the gathering, Ps. Monihring emphasised on education and the role of government employees in developing the Anal community. He maintained that one must pursue education and aim for government jobs of various categories so that they can help in developing their community.

Welcoming the delegates, Dr. Bd. Thumdal Anal, President, ANGEWA said the association was formed about two years ago with an aim to safeguard the interest and welfare of the government employees of the Anal community. Informing that there are over 600 members of the association, he called on them to play a vital role for the community.

As a retired pricipal of United College, Lambung in Chandel district, Dr. Bd. Thumdal also said he is resigning from the post of the president of ANGEWA and wished his successors the best.

Besides releasing of the constitution, the event also marked as a farewell programme for outgoing executives of the association.

Speaking on behalf of outgoing executives, Bs. Ringhring, MFS (Retd), DTO Chandel and Auditor, ANGEWA expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the association. He also extended his best wishes to the new members in their endeavours.

Hb. Ruwngthung, general secretary of the association gave the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all for the support through their presence.

The event was attended by representatives from each government department in which Anal communities worked. Moreover, it was also attended by Ts. Chamna Anal, Addl SP (L/O), Chandel; Hb. Ruwnghnem, Asst. Professor (RTD); Hb. Starson, ZEO i/c, Chandel and ALT GHq president Bd. Ningwar among others.
