Annual Sports Meet of Tangkhul Katamnao Long Delhi Concludes with Grand Ceremony

New Delhi, March 9: The four-day-long Annual Sports Meet of Tangkhul Katamnao Long Delhi culminated today with a spectacular closing ceremony, marking the end of competitions and fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie among participants. The closing ceremony, held with much fanfare, was graced by Vayaila Rungsung, Director of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, who presided as the Chief Guest.

In her address, Rungsung shed light on the often-overlooked contributions of women in history, urging a shift in societal narratives. Drawing inspiration from the biblical figure of Samson, she emphasized the importance of utilizing talents for the greater good and acting selflessly. She stressed that the nation relies on the youth, urging them to seize the opportunities presented in Delhi to learn, hone their skills, and fulfill their divine missions.

The event saw the esteemed presence of dignitaries such as P.N. Khrimey IPS, Jt. CP SPUNER SPUWAC Delhi Police, and Jepi Y. Chisho, General Secretary of the NSUD. The occasion also featured special presentations to recently appointed Tangkhul Assistant Professors in Delhi, acknowledging their achievements and contributions.

The final match of the sports meet was inaugurated by P.N. Khrimey IPS, Jt. CP SPUNER SPUWAC, Delhi Police, adding to the excitement and fervor of the event.

The sports events commenced on March 6, 2024, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium under the theme “Pingmeisa Khawon Kashon.” The opening ceremony, graced by Prof. Yaruingam Awungshi as the Chief Guest, was marked by inspirational speeches encouraging diligence, sincerity, and the revival of a progressive Tangkhul community.
