CHANDEL: The Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA), the apex body of the Anal Naga Community in Chandel, has called for a consensus voice in the upcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2027 to ensure that an Anal candidate is elected.
During the 4th Assembly of the Anal Naga Tangpi for the tenure 2023-28 held at Thungcheng Village Community Hall on Friday, after deliberation, the House resolved and agreed for a consensus voice for the upcoming 2027 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election.
Elders of the Anal Naga community including former MLA, St. Victor Nunglung, candidates of the previous Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022, known as the Seven Brothers, spoke and raised concerns for the need to elect an Anal candidate to the post of MLA in the 2027 election terming it viral and important.
Former candidate Lh. Paulhring, Working President, NPF MSU; Wng. Victor Kohring, Speaker, UNC and a former candidate; Ts. Willingson, intending candidate and Hl. Lovingson, former and intending candidate, spoke on the occasion.
The apex bodies of the various Anal Naga community such as Anal Sinnu Ruwl, Anal Lenruwl Tangpi and Anallon Chief Association spoke during the assembly. They highlighted the need to come together and stand together on a consensus candidate in the upcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2027.
They stated that with the upcoming NRC, Census and the delimitation, it was vital that an Anal candidate was elected to the MLA in 2027.
Reportedly, Lh. Paulhring, Working President, NPF MSU and former candidate; Wng Victor Kohring, Speaker, UNC; Ts. Willingson, ex-MDC; Hb. Ruwnghnem, Asst. Professor, UCL (Rtd) and Hl. Lovingson, Special Contractor are in line for candidature in the upcoming 2027 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election.
However, the ANTA Assembly on Friday resolved that it would come to a consensus voice on a single candidate to ensure that an Anal candidate is elected.

The programme was moderated by Huten Alexander, assistant general secretary, ANTA while Ps. Monihring, President ANTA hoisted the flag.
During the welcome address, the president highlighted the various issues before the house while Ts. Larni, general secretary, ANTA highlighted the activities report of the union.
The assembly was attended by over 500 individuals from the Anal community including the Anal Sinnu Ruwl, Anal Lenruwl Tangpi, Anallon Chief Association, etc
