Editor-in-Chief of Republic Media Network Arnab Goswami was arrested on Wednesday morning by Mumbai police from his Mumbai residence for allegedly abetting the suicide of interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik in 2018.

The Editors guild of India in a press statement said that it was “shocked to learn the arrest of Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV”. It said that the forum “condemn the sudden arrest and find it extremely distressing”. The forum called upon the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for fair treatment of Arnab Goswami, and that the “state power is not used against the critical reporting by the media”, it said.

Here is how Twitter is reacting to Arnab Goswami’s arrest.
