KAMJONG: Social activist and intending candidate Wungnaoshang Kasar has sought the Manipur governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla’s intervention over alleged irregularities in government recruitment and concerns surrounding electoral processes ahead of the forthcoming elections.
In a representation submitted to the governor on Monday, Kasar called for the immediate declaration and public disclosure of pending government recruitment results, greater transparency in public appointments, and measures to prevent possible electoral and recruitment-related irregularities.

He expressed concern over the growing uncertainty among unemployed youths, job aspirants, and the general public due to delays in declaring the results of various government recruitment examinations. He said candidates had been left waiting without clarity on the status of their examinations or the reasons for the delay.
Kasar also questioned reports and indications that the state government was proceeding with, or contemplating, fresh recruitment exercises as elections approach. He said the timing had raised questions about the government’s priorities, transparency and intentions.

Urging the authorities to clarify the reasons behind the pending results, he called for the disclosure of the status of each recruitment process. He further urged the government to ensure that the results and relevant information on ongoing recruitment exercises were made public before initiating fresh recruitment, subject to applicable laws and legitimate confidentiality requirements.
“The interest of thousands of unemployed youths and the credibility of public institutions demand that this matter be addressed without further delay,” Kasar said, urging the governor to intervene and ensure transparency and accountability in recruitment and related processes.
