Mon: Mon battalion of the Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 7 Sector AR / HQ IGAR (North) distributed nutritious food items to 40 tuberculosis patients at Mon district hospital on Thursday.
The ration distribution camp was conducted under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abyan to provide aid to tuberculosis patients along with Red Cross and in coordination with Dr Tinenlo James, Head of Tuberculosis Office, District Hospital, Mon a press release said.
Nutritional food provided to each TB patients under treatment included 1 Kg/ltr each of black grams, pulses, soyabeans and vegetable oil to support their nutritional requirement.

Col Santosh Rawat, SM, Commandant Mon battalion also promised to the patients his full support in the fight against tuberculosis, the release said.
Nyamto Wangsha Konyak, head of Red Cross society, addressed the patients and guided them to follow a healthy lifestyle.
The patients expressed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles for providing the nutritional requirements.
