UKHRUL: Assam Rifles organised a series of interaction and security meetings with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and village authorities in Noney and Senapati districts on January 19 and 20 continuing its efforts to foster stability and peace in the region.
On January 19, a security coordination meeting was held at Noney, bringing together representatives of various civil society organisations (CSOs) and village chairmen to discuss measures aimed at strengthening security and advancing developmental initiatives. The interaction highlighted the importance of sustained and proactive engagement between security forces and local communities to ensure peace and stability.
A follow-up interaction was organised on January 20 at Hengbung village in Senapati district, with participation from CSO leaders, the chairman of an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp, residents of a Kuki relief camp, and village representatives from Choungoubung and Hengbung.
Discussions focused on the prevailing security situation as well as challenges faced by displaced persons, including access to basic amenities, rehabilitation, education and livelihood opportunities.

During both meetings, the Assam Rifles reiterated its commitment to a responsive and people-centric approach, assuring stakeholders that their concerns would be addressed in coordination with relevant authorities. CSOs and local leaders, in turn, expressed appreciation for the continued support and engagement of the Assam Rifles in maintaining normalcy and fostering trust across the state.
